My Snow Miracle

This Friday I went to Snow College for a snow blast to have a tour of campus and do some auditions. I had fun getting familiar with the campus, and then I went to West Side Story, which was very well done. Of course I did not get a good sleep on the floor of my ambassadors apartment.

The next morning at 9 o’clock I had my vocal scholarship audition. I was sick with no voice 5 minutes before I went in. Once I entered the room my voice was back and I was able to deliver a great performance. The room also helped. I have never song in a room that had better acoustics. It put me to ease and I just wanted to play with the sound. I sang Alma del core, and When I Look At You from Scarlet Pimpernel. Then he had me sing harmony to Amazing grace on the spot. I feel I did a really good job even though I did not get any style points because I used a lot of pedal or same note for a measure or two. Well as Mama J always said during music theory boring is beautiful.

Then at noon I had my dance audition to see if I could make it into their ensemble. It was a combined audition for the Bagerettes or their drill team. The audition included Ballet, Jazz across the floor, Modern, and hip-hop. Of course I did beautifully on the Ballet and I did as bad on hip-hop as I did good on ballet. Lets just say my body freezes when I start doing hip-hop. At least that was a part of the audition geared towards the Bagerettes, the ensemble does not do hip-hop. All the others went well and so did my 1-minute solo. Afterwards I was dead sick. If I had been asked to do one more thing, I think I would have fallen over and died. I could not even eat I was so tired and I slept the whole way home. It was a miracle all my auditions went as well as they did. My sickness did not effect my auditions, now what happens, happens. I have no reservations about how I preformed.
