What have I got myself into...still bring it on!

First week of school has flown by and already I am maybe a little bit overwhelmed. I think that it will be wonderful anyway. I have great roommates and lots of friends. It is great being at Snow again and seeing all the familiar faces. Also seeing the new freshman adjust to college life is fun. With Arise and Ballroom company, I am hoping that my social life will be taken care off. Now I just have to make time to do homework and exercise everyday. I am excited to make it work and I will just have to take a week at a time. With 17 credits worth of hard classes I will not have much down time. I have to ride my bike between classes to minimize on wasted time. That is what everything comes down to, time. If only I had an hour more each day....
So anyway the classes I am taking are:
  • Physics 2210 or Physics for Scientists and Engineers
  • Math 2280 or Differential Equations
  • Ancient World History
  • Music 1010 or Intro to Music aka the easiest class I am taking
  • Ballroom Dance Company
  • Folk Dance
  • For Institute
    • Miracle of Forgiveness
    • Arise (Audition Choir)
With the Lord's help anything is possible :)

First year of College over

I still cannot believe it is over and here I have been out of school for two weeks. I had a really hard semester but somehow I made it through with flying colors and still kept my 4.0. Those who told me, on hearing that I was going to Snow College, that Snow would be an easy college and I could glide right through defiantly don't know anything about the college. Also the fact that I am still majoring in Mathematics does not make it at all easier. Most of my friends probably thought I was a hermit, locked up in my room or spending countless hours at the math lab. Yes I did not have as much time to socialize as I would have liked but it was worth it. I did 18 credits this semester and they weren't easy classes either (this does not count Human Biology).
I am excited for next year and already feel like I should be heading back. This summer is going to be good though. I will be working up at Trefoil Ranch, a girls scout camp, and being a horse back riding counselor. This means I will be gone all week. Still waiting for the camp to start has been annoying. I have nothing planned in May and just get to ride horses, read, write (that should make some people happy), and work on random projects. I am glad where my life is going right now and I know that I am doing what is right.
I am just adding some random pictures from the semester enjoy!
Snowshoeing up Fairview Canyon
China Town LA (during Spring Break)
King Arther's Marigoround in Disneyland
Sleeping Beauty's Castle
Beaches in Cali
Spring Ball

Spring 2011 Semester

I am so excited for the new semester and going to my classes this week has made me realize just how hard it is going to be.All my classes seem good though. Calculus is just the same, just a new insane teacher. Discrete Math is fun with just me and a bunch of really nerdy guys. I like that Human Biology won’t be too hard because the teacher just wants us to come out of the class loving biology and hopefully learn something on the way. That is the kind of general’s class that can actually be fun. Then English should not be too hard if I can learn how to spell. Classic Mythology is really fun because I get to learn all these random myths. Then I am so happy I have three dance classes so I can just enjoy life and become distressed. My Isaiah class is amazing and I cannot wait to actually start delving into Isaiah next week. We have just been learning history so far.

I am really enjoying being in Arise, the institute choir. We are singing “Down to the River to Pray” Also we are singing this gorgeous arrangement of “Joseph Smith’s First Vision.” Arise used to be a show choir but this year their mission changed by request of the church and the focus is now on spiritual songs. We will just some fun songs later and that will be fun when it comes but for now it is great to sing about he Savoir.

I have been looking more into my major at Utah State and I have decided to my major is Mathematics and Statistics Composite and then I am going to minor in Physics. Crazy right, but it feels really good so far. Getting a minor in Physics will only take me ten more credits outside what I need for my major. I have so much I can do at Snow that I hope I can cram it all into two semesters. I might have to do a maymester. Still I am very excited to get to work and make my plans and dreams happen!
