I'm a Mormon

About Me:
I grew up the youngest of five children and each weekend of my childhood we would get lost in the mountains of Utah together. At first I hated hiking and complained like the little sister I was. Then as I got older I have learned to love the outdoors more than anything else, especially when it is on the back of the horse. I love riding and running through fields. I have went on millions of trail rides, but if I am not on the trail I love jumping. Flying through the air on a horse is unlike anything else I have ever done and I love it. When the weather is not good I go to college and learn about math and physics. I have always liked solving puzzles and math is my kind of puzzle. Since I was in kindergarten I have always known I wanted to teach. Now I know that I am going to be a math, physics, and statistics teacher in some high school someday. My three dreams in life is to teach school, own a horse ranch, and get married to an amazing man.

How I Live My Faith:
As a young adult going to school I have been very involved in the church and it is a big part of my social life. I have met wonderful people through attending church and other activities. One of the best parts about the church is wherever I go I know that I can find people that will welcome me and care about me in church. The LDS church is the same no matter where you go and I love the consistency as I have went from school to school and lived away from my family. I live my faith by trying to help others and lift them up through times of trials. I try to not just take but to give back all the blessing I have received from the LDS church.

Why I am a Mormon:
I am LDS not only because it gives me a social life, but also because it makes me happy. Because of this teaching of this gospel I know that my life is better than it would be otherwise. Living the commandments is not a restriction, it is a blessing. Living free of sin is not just a nice fairy tale, through the atonement of Jesus Christ it is truly possible. I am a Mormon because without it my life would lack direction and a purpose. I am a Mormon because it just makes me happy.

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

The Book of Mormon is full of plain and simple truths. Everyday when I read it I find little bits of knowledge that I can apply in my life. It has given my comfort and made more more content with myself. I have read many stories in the Book of Mormon, like the story of Captain Moroni, the leader of an army. He led the people of Nephi do defend there home, their liberty, and their religion. He cared about the people he served and also looked for God for help in each battle. Even though it was not easy he led the people, with God's help, to victory over their foes. This one example has taught my that I can turn to the Lord to help my fight my battles, whether it be as small as a homework assignment or as big as what career to pursue. Also with his help I can have a good relationship with my family and feel of their love. The Book of Mormon gives us great heroes like Captain Moroni it follow their example.
